Exprezo Fixed Inconsistent In-Store Messaging Across Outlets With Pickcel

The Client
Exprezo is a one-stop-shop chain of convenience stores located across gas stations in the US. They operate 20+ outlets currently and have over 50 digital signage screens installed across their locations. These stores are usually high-footfall areas, serving fresh and quick-service food, quality wine and beverages, and on-the-go retail to daily commuters and drivers. They do things differently and so they needed software that helped them do it better.
The Challenge
Exprezo was already using digital signage in their stores but more so to showcase existing power points on playback. They didn’t have the means to showcase real-time offers and information, whenever they needed to and however they wanted to. They lacked a centralized system in place. Each store was managing its content manually or locally, which became difficult as the network grew.
Here’s what wasn’t working:
- No real-time updates: Every location showed the same presentations or limited content. Messaging such as brand offers, menus, and announcements had to be showcased manually or through unnecessary plugin efforts.
- No Central Control: Without a centralized CMS, the head officer couldn’t manage what was showing at each outlet. There was no way that he could ensure branding alignment across the stores.
- Limited Visibility & Engagement: The screens weren’t being used to their full potential as customers had to see repetitive stuff and were unable to interact or engage with the screens in any way.
- Scalability Issues: They wanted to grow their network, but their current setup wasn’t ready for it. They needed software that allowed them to scale as they wanted and however they needed.
The concern was obvious. Exprezo needed a better digital signage solution They needed a smarter digital signage system that could connect everything and give them complete control, remotely and in real-time.
The Solution
Exprezo reached out to Pickcel in 2024. They needed a solid cloud-based installation for their digital signage, something that could just tie everything together easily. After understanding their requirements and goals, we offered them a small Proof of Concept (POC) rollout in a few stores, and once the team saw the ease of use and impact, they knew they had to expand it up to 12 stores.
